the american indian science & engineering society (aises) is a national, nonprofit organization which nurtures building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional native values. through its educational programs, aises provides opportunities for american indians and native alaskans to pursue studies in science, engineering, and technology arenas.
the university of oklahoma’s aises is a growing organization and will have a growing impact over the next few years. ou aises is supported primarily by the college of engineering, however it has additional support from the college of arts & sciences as well as the college of earth & energy.
aises administers many programs, services, and events for pre-college, undergraduate and graduate students designed to increase their access to college and support their success in in preparation for careers in stem fields. native college students need professional mentorship and peer support in addition to scholarship support.
