Earthquake Insurance

Earthquake Insurance

Earthquake insurance is a form of property insurance that pays the policyholder in the event of an earthquake that causes damage to the property. Most ordinary homeowners insurance policies do not cover earthquake damage.

According to USAA, the average cost for earthquake insurance annually is between $100 and $300. However, more at-risk states like Alaska, California, Oregon, and Washington have premiums as high as $800 per year, on average. Your earthquake insurance deductible is a percentage of your home’s insured value.
