yes you can snorkel the caves. we didn't but they told us you can but i believe you have to have guide in the caves. you can snorkel in la jolla cove without a guide and there is a beach front that goes into the snorkel area. the person we spoke with did recommend wet suits due to temp of water. they said its crystal clear down to like 30 ft or so.
